The Moor Pool Conservation Area is protected by an Article 4(2) Direction. Birmingham City Council working with the Moor Pool Residents Association produced a comprehensive Character Appraisal and Management Plan which is now supplementary planning guidance when determining planning applications. Residents will find the document useful in guiding as to what can and can't be done on the Estate.

Small seemingly unimportant changes to properties can have a cumulative effect on eroding the character of the area. An example is replacement windows some of which are excellent reproductions of the original estate windows whilst others are very poor.
