Margaret Grove Flood 1931
In 1931 there was a flash storm and the allotments or bowling green as well as the road flooded. If you walk there you will see that there is quite a drop to the houses so for the road to flood suggests a large quantity of water fell.
The picture below that is of the flooded allotments. Whether this was the same event or at another time is unknown.
