The Opening of the Estate 1907


The picture below is of Margaret Nettlefold cutting the first sod.


The spade originally promised by Grainger plc to the Moor Pool Residents Association is now on display at Winterbourne House where there is a great display about Nettlefold and his work.


John Sutton Nettlefold does not appear to be in the picture. Behind the group are existing houses in Park Hill Road showing that at the end of the Estate houses the ground must have been clear to allow the view through.


The group of ladies are walking along behind the Park Hill Road houses. This view is looking towards the end of Moor Pool Avenue where it joins Park Hill Road. The platform the group stood on is in the foreground. The photographer would have been just off picture to the left by the mound of soil.
